Publication Ethics Statement

The Journal of Biomedical Frontiers and Molecular Medicine (JBFMM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, research integrity, and professional conduct. The journal follows internationally recognized best practices and ethical guidelines to ensure the quality, credibility, and transparency of the scholarly record.

JBFMM adheres to the principles and recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers to uphold these standards throughout the publication process.

RESEARCH INTEGRITY

All research submitted to JBFMM must be conducted and reported honestly, accurately, and transparently. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is original, scientifically sound, and supported by reliable data.

Any form of research misconduct, including fabrication, falsification, manipulation of data, or misleading reporting, is considered unacceptable and may result in rejection, retraction, or other corrective actions.

AUTHORSHIP AND CONTRIBUTIONS

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study.

All authors must:

  • Approve the final version of the manuscript.
  • Agree to its submission and publication.
  • Accept responsibility for the integrity of the work.
  • Individuals who contributed to the research but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged appropriately.

ORIGINALITY AND PLAGIARISM

Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.

Authors are required to properly cite and acknowledge the work of others. All submissions may be screened using plagiarism-detection software prior to peer review.

Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and unauthorized use of copyrighted material are considered serious ethical violations.

DATA INTEGRITY AND AVAILABILITY

Authors should retain original research data and be prepared to provide supporting information if requested by the editors.

Data presented in manuscripts must be accurate and should not be fabricated, falsified, selectively reported, or manipulated in a manner that misrepresents the research findings.

Authors are encouraged to make research data available whenever appropriate and consistent with ethical, legal, and confidentiality requirements.

ETHICAL APPROVAL AND HUMAN SUBJECTS RESEARCH

Research involving human participants must comply with applicable ethical standards and institutional requirements.

Authors must provide:

  • A statement confirming approval from an Institutional Review Board (IRB), Ethics Committee, or equivalent body.
  • Information regarding informed consent when required.
  • Assurance that participant privacy and confidentiality have been protected.

Research involving human participants should be conducted in accordance with recognized ethical principles, including those outlined in the Declaration of Helsinki and applicable local regulations.

ANIMAL RESEARCH

Studies involving animals must be conducted in accordance with recognized ethical standards and institutional guidelines.

Authors should clearly state that appropriate ethical approval was obtained and that animal welfare considerations were followed throughout the study.

Research involving animals should adhere to relevant national and international regulations designed to promote humane and responsible animal care.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, or professional relationships that could influence or appear to influence the research, peer review, or editorial decision-making process.

All relevant conflicts of interest should be declared at the time of submission or review.

USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

Authors must disclose the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of manuscripts.

AI tools may be used to improve language, grammar, readability, or assist with data analysis where appropriate, but they cannot be listed as authors, as authorship requires accountability and responsibility that can only be attributed to human contributors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content.
