Peer Review Process
The Journal of Biomedical Frontiers and Molecular Medicine (JBFMM) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific excellence, research integrity, and publication ethics through a rigorous and transparent peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts are carefully evaluated to ensure the quality, originality, validity, and significance of the research published in the journal.
TYPE OF PEER REVIEW
JBFMM follows a double-blind peer-review process, whereby:
- The identities of authors are concealed from reviewers.
- The identities of reviewers are concealed from authors.
This approach promotes objective and unbiased evaluation based solely on the scientific merit, methodological rigor, and scholarly contribution of the submitted work.
REVIEW PROCESS
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, manuscripts are evaluated by the Editorial Office and Editor-in-Chief to assess:
- Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
- Scientific quality and originality.
- Compliance with submission guidelines.
- Adherence to ethical and research reporting standards.
Manuscripts that do not satisfy these requirements may be returned to the authors without external review.
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area. Each manuscript is typically evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers specializing in biomedical sciences, molecular medicine, clinical research, biotechnology, or related disciplines.
Peer Review Evaluation
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality and scientific significance.
- Methodological rigor and experimental design.
- Validity and reliability of data and analyses.
- Relevance to biomedical sciences and molecular medicine.
- Clarity, organization, and presentation of the manuscript.
- Compliance with ethical and reporting standards.
Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to support editorial decisions and assist authors in improving the quality of their work.
Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer reports and editorial assessment, one of the following decisions may be made:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors receive anonymized reviewer comments and are invited to revise their manuscripts when revisions are required.
Revision and Re-evaluation
Authors submitting revised manuscripts should provide a detailed response to reviewer comments. Depending on the extent of revisions required, revised manuscripts may undergo further evaluation by the original reviewers or editorial team before a final decision is reached.
Final Acceptance and Publication
Manuscripts that successfully meet the journal's scientific, ethical, and editorial standards are accepted for publication and proceed through copyediting, proofreading, production, and online publication.

JBFMM recognizes the importance of timely dissemination of biomedical discoveries and clinical advancements. The journal strives to provide authors with an efficient review process, and every effort is made to communicate the first editorial decision within 4-6 weeks of submission. Actual review times may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
