Peer Review Process
The Journal of Precision Molecular and Clinical Oncology (JPMCO) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of scientific excellence, research integrity, and publication ethics through a rigorous and transparent peer-review process. All submitted manuscripts are evaluated to ensure their originality, scientific validity, methodological rigor, and contribution to the advancement of precision oncology and cancer research.
TYPE OF PEER REVIEW
JPMCO follows a double-blind peer-review process, whereby:
- The identities of authors are concealed from reviewers.
- The identities of reviewers are concealed from authors.
This approach promotes objective and unbiased evaluation based solely on the scientific merit, quality, and significance of the submitted research.
REVIEW PROCESS
Initial Editorial Screening
Upon submission, manuscripts are evaluated by the Editorial Office and Editor-in-Chief to assess:
- Relevance to the journal's aims and scope.
- Originality and scientific significance.
- Compliance with submission guidelines.
- Adherence to ethical and research reporting standards.
Manuscripts that do not satisfy these requirements may be returned to the authors without external review.
Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that successfully pass the initial screening are assigned to independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the subject area. Each manuscript is typically evaluated by at least two qualified reviewers specializing in oncology, molecular biology, cancer genomics, pathology, translational medicine, or related disciplines.
Peer Review Evaluation
Reviewers assess manuscripts based on:
- Originality and innovation of the research.
- Scientific rigor and methodological quality.
- Validity and reliability of data and analyses.
- Clinical and translational significance of the findings.
- Relevance to precision oncology and molecular medicine.
- Clarity, organization, and presentation of the manuscript.
- Compliance with ethical and reporting standards.
Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to support editorial decision-making and assist authors in improving the quality of their work.
Editorial Decision
Based on reviewer reports and editorial assessment, one of the following decisions may be made:
- Accept
- Minor Revision
- Major Revision
- Reject
Authors receive anonymized reviewer comments and are invited to revise their manuscripts when revisions are required.
Revision and Re-evaluation
Authors submitting revised manuscripts should provide a detailed response to reviewer comments. Depending on the extent of revisions required, revised manuscripts may undergo further evaluation by the original reviewers or editorial team before a final decision is reached.
Final Acceptance and Publication
Manuscripts that successfully meet the journal's scientific, ethical, and editorial standards are accepted for publication and proceed through copyediting, proofreading, production, and online publication.

JPMCO recognizes the importance of timely dissemination of cancer research and clinical innovations. The journal strives to provide authors with an efficient review process, and every effort is made to communicate the first editorial decision within 4-6 weeks of submission. Actual review times may vary depending on reviewer availability and manuscript complexity.
